Kid’s Lit Quiz Double Victory

On Monday, 7th November 2 teams made up of some of our avid KS3 readers travelled to Bootham School in York to compete in the Yorkshire heat of the Kid’s Lit Quiz. The KLQ is a reading quiz on any book from picture books up to those aimed at teenage readers, and includes myths, legends and comics.

The quiz also includes sections on literary terms. It is a very difficult quiz and there were 19 teams fighting to be crowned Yorkshire champion. We entered 2 teams and managed to win first and second place. Well done to Sam, Ibrahim, Zayyan and Ollie for their wonderful result of silver and winning their books and book tokens.

Congratulations to Mattie, Harry, Adam and Samuel for securing the trophy and good luck to them in the national final, which will take place at the City of London Girl’s School on Wednesday 7th December – if they manage to win that we will then be preparing to represent the UK in Canada over the summer to compete for the international title.
